midwest | when I listened to BBC.
Interviewed a French member of parliament. No way would they negotiate with Trump. The tariffs are one thing, then Trump said this at the Republican dinner: "Because I'm telling you, these countries are calling us up, kissing my ass. They are. They are dying to make a deal. "Please, please, sir, make a deal. I'll do anything. I'll do anything, sir."
French member of parliament said no effing way after that.
And then Trump caved on the tariffs. The bond traders were pulling down their sails, in concert. Bonds waaaaaay too erratic.
12 hours after puttin' 'em on, he caved. And then Karoline Leavitt: "Many of you in the media clearly missed the art of the deal. You clearly failed to see what President Trump is doing here. You tried to say that the rest of the world would be moved closer to China when, in fact, we're seen the opposite effect. The entire world is calling the United States of America not China because they need our markets, they need our consumers and they need this president in the Oval Office to talk to them."
Then Scott Bessent: "This was driven by the president's strategy. He and I had a long talk on Saturday and this was his strategy all along,"
Then Trump: "I saw last night where people were getting a little queasy,"
I get that if you don't blow lavender up Trump's behind 24/7 you don't work for him. But is that what y'all MAGAers require of your employees, to fawn over your fine self to the point of comedy???
Okay, on China, you know they had the idea that Trump could be President again at least a few year ago. They're not stupid, they've been preparing for a long time and I'm sure they're not at all surprised. Plan B, C, D, probably all laid out. As for 75 other countries beating down the door, pfffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffft.
Like I said, the palace hasn't made the clown a king, rather the clown has made the palace a circus.
But tribalism is alive and well in the good ole U.S. of A and trumps common sense.
And yeah, after Trump saw what a "rumor" of a 90 day tariff suspension did to the markets, up a bunch before cratering again when the "rumor" was debunked....
If it looks, sounds, and walks like a duck??? |
