Kettle Moraine, WI | If you stay at Manitowoc, that is a distance from "real Door county.". But the drive north in state highway 42 is a pleasant 2 lane road with frequent views of the lake Michigan coastline. Staying in Green Bay if you're avoiding Door County proper and it's prices could be an option because highway 57 is four lane for a distance into Door county. The drive to go to Washington Island is longer than one would think so check distances with maps on drive times. I would review a daily "commute" into door county and balance cost versus your leisure.
Definitely do the Lambeau tour. If you are staying at more than one location., Manitowoc and Green Bay could have day worth of things to see. Manitowoc to Brewers game is easy 4 and 6blane interstate to stadium.
Going to the stadium, as other poster eluded to, Milwaukee is one of the most segregated cities in the country. To the stadium, interstate has a off ramp to what is or was "Miller Park Way" (may be something else now stadium is American Family Field AmFam Field). Stadium borders the interstate so short drive and food signage into stadium parking.
I don't know the direction you're arriving from, but EAA museum at Oshkosh may interest adults and kids. Along I43 just south of Manitowoc is Farm Discovery Center that is interesting for all age groups but leans towards school age kid demographic. Manitowoc has a submarine in the harbor I think can be toured. On Friday, a Wisconsin Fish Fry is a part of the experience. Just Google "best fish fry in (town you are in)". Also, that place may be a bar. And for the most part, kids in a bar for eating is a normal thing in Wisconsin that may be frowned upon in other places. German cultural influence of yesteryear. Google "kids drinking in bars with parents in Wisconsin" for what may be shocking allowed consumption for people from other states.
Cheese, lots of good cheese. Some have viewing of cheese making. Widmer's in Theresa is a place to experience.
Lastly, look at the sites reviews and pictures on Google. Yes, not always accurate but trend is accurate. Very helpful to decide if a place is the vibe you want to experience.
