Chicago stockyard days:
I always wondered this, during its heyday of operation and a lot of animals, how did the buying/ selling take place? Were there rings where animals ran thru and auctioned? Or, did potential buyers walk along the pens, inspect the lots, and place bids to someone managing the yards?
