Subject: RE: What speed with high speed planter?

nw illinois
Deere or PP? I usually run according to good ride and ground contact numbers on a PP system. Most of the time between 8.5 and 10.5. I once had a field that had bad winter annual root balls and only ran 6.5. Generally speaking COC is 8-9 and bean ground is as fast as i can pull it which is usually 10-11. First year with speed tubes did some trials and ground truthed the stand. On bean stubble no difference in stand/yield from 7.5 mph to 11 mph.
