Subject: RE: Orthodontist problem need some advice

South Central MN
If she went to someone specializing in root canal therapy (endodontics), the correct term for the provider is endodontist. I'm so sorry this happened to her. I would get an opinion from another dentist who can determine the extent of the entry into the incorrect tooth. To me, it seems the very least the endodontist should provide is the fee to treat the incorrect tooth (by her regular dentist) and also the fee for the root canal therapy, plus any x-rays that were done for these two procedures, and also for the second opinion if there is a fee billed for that. Yes, perhaps the root canal therapy was already going to be done, but I feel it should be done at no charge now as a good will gesture. It might be pretty difficult to get future treatment (other than what is done right now) covered by him without a law suit, and I would try very hard to negotiate privately before approaching that. The endodontic procedure, done at no charge, should offset (at least to some degree) any future treatment treatment required for the wrong tooth.
Without knowing the extent to the wrong tooth, it's hard to say exactly, which is why she should have a second opinion from her regular dentist.
