A friend of mine was killed 20+ years ago when a limb knocked him out of the bucket. He had several years experience when it happened. Another friend has a bucket truck and he would agree with the other poster about the maintenance. I've done a limited amount of tree trimming from a bucket truck when I was much younger, but you wouldn't get me up in one now.

My late brother fell out of HIS own bucket truck about 25 years ago while trying to cut some ice-covered tree limbs. Door latch failed, safety chain not in use and didn't have safety hardness on. His 12-year-old son watched him fall ~15' and take his last breath. Was operating his business (cable TV line installer), with no insurance. If it would have been one of his employees..................I'm guessing bankruptcy might have been the course of action.
