If you're not familiar with the Speedrites............they always run on 12 volts. You either just put a direct plug in that allows you to hook it to a battery. Or you put a plug in that has a built in transformer that reduces your 120 volts AC back to 12 volts DC. That's why when mine starts out at like 130+ volts..........it has trouble getting the voltage down low enough for most chargers.

I realize it's a little confusing if you haven't been around it. When I initially tried just using chargers that were only made to run on 120 volts............I burned up one, before testing things. I checked with my meter on the female plug...........and realized I had over 130 volts, so I plugged a drop light in to see what would happen. It got real BRIGHT..........and then burned out........LOL.

Does that help any?..........or have I still left you confused??
