SW OH | I have a friend that works for the county but trims trees on the weekend. He bought a bucket truck several years ago for $200 and probably over paid for it. He makes it work though. It only goes 30 feet high straight up. His 2 brothers and another guy help him. The other guy climbs for anything the bucket can't reach. He also sells firewood. He's made enough money to buy 3 other trucks, a chipper, skid steer, all used and cheap, plus a new dump trailer.
As far as I know he has no insurance. If he stays busy he claims he makes almost as much cutting trees as he does working for the county.
