This is margin selling, Friday afternoon was margin selling. Everyone that was long on margin thinking the stock market never goes down are/were facing large margin deficits and had no choice but to sell into it or deposit more money. It will calm down at some point
For a lot of retail investors, this is their first real taste of fear and panic...and margin calls.
