Subject: RE: Dining alone at restaurants

Middle of the middle west
Before I got married, I would go out and eat alone several times a week. Never did much like cooking for myself, so at that time I alloted myself $60 per week. Pretty much knew the weekly specials for 20 miles around. Never actually gave any thought to eating by myself. It was time to eat, I was hungry, and they were selling food. Never worried about having someone to talk to. There was usually a neighbor, friend, acquaintance, bartender, or owner to talk to.

Still do go by myself from time to time. Maybe once every couple of weeks. Usually for dinner nowadays rather than supper. If I go out for supper, I usually take my older two children as they are old enough now to enjoy it a little bit.
