Pittsburg, Kansas | Thanks for reminding me and I try to be thankful and give thanks every day for the blessings in our lives.
Spent a wonderful day yesterday and the night before with long time friends that live here in Slovakia. He took me on a tour of some historical fortifications that were at the junction of the Danube and Vah rivers near their home that started building in the 15th century and up through Soviet occupation days. He remembers the days as a very young child when the Soviet army was stationed near his home and the Communist days as a youth. He also is very thankful to be free and to be able to travel.
We met his mother and it was quite incredible for her to have Americans in her living room because in the days of Communism she was told stories like we Americans eat Communist babies. Propaganda by government is nothing new.
I am very thankful for the blessings in my life. Born and raised in a free country was certainly one of the blessings.
