I suggest you do your own funeral arrangements, and prepay if possible.
Make sure someone knows where those documents are.
I dont see anything wrong with "helping mom and dad" to do this, and if they dont, tell them you will go the cheapest way without a headstone or service. (that might get them in the mood to put it in writing, and prepay)
