NWIL
I used to travel quite a bit in my previous life, usually alone. I found that sitting at the bar made for a whole lot more enjoyable meal then sitting at a table. Not so much talking to the bartender, but often times in the rural areas I'd strike up great chats with other folks sitting there alone as well. Even though I'm not much of a TV watcher, having something with movement across from me made the time go by better then staring at the seat cushion across from me. The biggest thing was I almost always felt like a lone sole gets better service at the bar then at an easily forgotten about table with one person at it amongst a sea of tables with 4-6 folks. Same food, same drink, better experiences. When wife and I head out we often sit at the bar anymore as well if there are two seats available.
