| Ewe most likely had ketosis from pregnancy toxemia or maybe hypocalcemia. They can kind of mirror each other. Good thing to have on hand are Ketostix to check them out. We had a great lambing year all things considered, much better than 2024 crop. Helps to have them shorn during pregnancy to help check condition. Twins and triplets can really drain a ewe to starvation and it’s hard to see it under wool. I do not divide my ewes into weight groups for dialed in feeding but that’s not saying I shouldn’t. I lamb inside and the ewes are off pasture probably a month before lambing. | |
