Chatham Ontario. | Article I read in the paper shows trade dollars divided per capita.
Canadian consumer spent average $8500 on American goods.
US spent about $1200 on Canadian goods.
The EU consumer spent $822 on US goods.
US spent $1775 on EU imports.
US buys $1287 on Chinese goods.
China spent $95 each on US goods.
So, as a Canadian I don't know how much more US goods I can really afford. ;-)
US economy is 16 times the size of Canada's. As I've said in other threads, it is
incredibly hard for us to have perfectly balanced trade value.
