ec. nebr. | You had to mention "clothing" Do you all know that next to food, clothing is the #2 most discarded/ wasteful item that is not used to its normal life expectancy. Fads change, people throw out clothes. If you were to look into a persons closet, there are clothes that may have been worn once. Some not at all. Then, in with the new, out with the old. I think most could go a yr. without buying any clothes, except underwear. We as a society are a throw away species. Have you ever looked in a Goodwill trailer? or the back of 1 of their stores? Mountains of used clothes, some as good as new, some are new. We are spoiled by this mentality. We can do better. With the price of food, I am shocked how much it costs at an eating place, yet see folks throwing 1/2-1/3 away! I do not know how bad this is in their own homes? But if that trend follows thru, it is tremendous. Maybe this new inflation will slow this trend down>>>> | |
