Demand for labor should increase tremendously if all these jobs are coming back to the US, wage inflation will be massive as the unemployment rate is already low. Wage inflation will drive up the cost of all goods. It is not a zero sum game. I got a chuckle out of Clay’s nickname for the Don, “Cheeto Man”, so that’s who I’m referring too here, if cheesecurl’s claims of 5 trillion and counting of new business/infrastructure are true, while on the surface sounds tremendous, when I think it through a little further all that sudden new demand on building materials of every sort will most certainly cause those building materials to skyrocket in value. I can’t recall right now what happened around 15ish years ago to make raw steel in tight supply, but I sure do remember what the resultant effect was on the price of equipment. New Brent wagons shot through the roof in price. And guess what, they never came backdown again.
