Kentucky | flatlick farmer - 4/2/2025 20:11 What are you doing to control the cressleaf groundsel if you don't spray in the spring? We could control most all weeds spraying in the fall, but would have quite a bit of cressleaf sticking out of the top of the canopy. We have opted to take sharpen out of fall burndown and let that pay for quelex/2,4-d since we would be spraying insecticide/fungicide/palisade anyways.
At this point, I’m doing very little. I have so few of them that I’ve considered it only a cosmetic problem to this point. That could change. I’m only making a March fungicide application if stripe rust hits. I use GreenSeeker to variable rate nitrogen so I don’t spray Palisade. All that to say that I’ve sprayed very few acres in March the last 4-5 years. My fall application is Gramoxone and Valor SX for burndown followed by Anthem Flex (Zidua) plus metribuzin late November. |
