The goal is goods not currency. I don’t care if I have any dollars, if I have all the goods and services I need. If a merchant wants to subsidize my purchase so they can keep their kids employed that is their prerogative.
Who said anything about exports. The conversation was centered on the idea that tariffs will level some economic playing field and the idea that other counties using tariffs wasn’t fair so we should do the same. What tariffs do is raise consumer cost and leads to less economic prosperity. Nothing more nothing less. | |
