IN
Have row max rolls on a 608C with devestators. Expensive upgrade but does a very nice job. I have had a couple gearboxes slip but it was a result of wet stalks and not running the head fast enough. The little pieces would pile up on the devestators and slip the clutch. That was the first season so it was a learning curve but have had no issues since. We run an inline ripper through the standing stalks in the fall and the stalks were never an issue. Had some plugging due to shucks but no the stalks. Hardly anything left this spring. I’d run some type of chopping rolls and I don’t think one is better than the other really. Little pieces fall right beside the row and the devestators push them down beside the crushed stalks. Really nice combo I’d think strip till would work well behind it we just don’t have the money to go strip till right now with current prices
