 Floyd County, Iowa | I have a 9400.
In corn-
I set the pre-cleaner a little wider than book calls for.
I set the chaffer and extension about where book says.
The sieve gets set wider than book calls for.
The fan gets set at about 1100. One thing to remember is that the screen intake on the sides of the fan opening get plugged with leaves, so you may have to keep cleaning them off to get air to flow. When I start seeing leaves an junk in the tank, I get out and clean them off- both sides. Or shut the separator down so the leaves fall off. Dry, windy weather makes this worse.
Cylinder gets set at 300, max.
Cylinder space tight enough to clean the kernels off the cob, without grinding the cob to smithereens. I have the original spacing "gauge" out the right window. In corn, I start out at "5" and change it either way as soon as corn starts coming in and I can see what it's doing. Usually run about 4.5 to 5.5 , +/-.
Beans-
Pre-cleaner closed.
Chaffer and extension per the book, maybe a little wider.
Sieve a little wider than book.
Fan 1100 +/-. Same as far as leaves plugging intake. Watch the tank for empty pods and trash.
Cylinder speed at 600 to start with.
Cylinder space start at "3".
That's "here". YMMV
