China has invested in South America for decades to create a favorable, perhaps one sided, trade with them.
The investments are tailored to create a big crop with no way to store it, and fire sale it to China as it’s harvested. Argentina is set up as an oil producer, Brazil as a whole bean producer.
I didn’t see your article, but of course they use every effort to buy there first.
China has played games with markets for decades.
Yes, it’s upsetting.
Hopefully some changes can be made.
