Bloomfield MO | Ill using a seed plate for small seed, but the choice is either the red 60 cell(high rate) or the orange 30 cell(low rate). Target populations, will vary with fields from 70k- 80k. For me to acquire that range, with the red high rate 60 cell, the manual says the use the 15 tooth half rate sprocket and divide listed population by two, for your target. It seems to me that if I just used the orange 30 cell plate, then I wouldn’t have to mess with swapping to the 15 tooth half rate sprocket. Is this true or am I missing something.
