The newer loaders are “nicer”. For a yard machine I would want 3rd function and quick attach. Even though you dnt “need” the extra size if you don’t feel the machine is clumbersumb in areas I wouldn’t go smaller. I went from a 621 case to a 621d and now have a 950h cat. The 621d was a nice mid size loader. The 950h gets more done when loading stuff like manure. Both have 3rd function and quick attach. Between dozer blade, grapple bucket, pallet forks, toothed bucket, push out bucket, oversized bucket, etc….. they are as universal as a Skidloader. I went to a cat this time just for ease of service and parts. Was tough to find a mechanic with knowledge of the case machines around us.
