Had a JD 'B' with #5 sickel mower with a spinner on the steering wheel.
Using the spinner you could make a nice 90 degree turn and leave a neat square cut corner in the hay field
That was back in the late 50ies and it was not new when I learned to drive it
Used it into the mid 70ies
