 Guymon, OK | Of course a human will still be required to make repairs and do maintenance, but it isn't at all unreasonable that, in the very near future, an AI will be able to spot a potential problem at a threshold far lower than we can detect. It will also be smart enough to know the immediacy of the problem, send a detailed report to its human operator, and either continue working or shut down as needed. An AI also won't need decades of experience. Its basic "education" will come at the factory, and it will expand its knowledge in the field far more quickly than a human.
We are living in the future, even though 2025 doesn't look as futuristic as promised when I was a kid. | |
