coast of Maine | The only thing limiting massive expansion into ag controls are laws of the USDOT and FAA.Having been to a couple of AI tech shows in the last year ,,the change is happening very fast, what was possible 2 years ago by GPSand local systems you all use for steering is being completely chucked out with computers that learn(AI).They know where they are by memories .These are shared amongst machines. So if your(its) auger hit a truck the next combine would know that and never do it again.Just imagining that it can learn is difficult for most including me. One system I was interested in was the "Mule" and its ability to eliminate some mundane field labor. It comes with a 24/7 learning connection to all "mules"thru the supplier. These updates are sharing data learned by other "mules".It is kind of crazy but I guess you need to think of it as anew employee and it eventually becomes experienced .The knowledge gained is limitless but the actual limit is what mechanically be built to use this knowledge. The make machine now that picks strawberries(yes very well in fact)but I cannot buy one,,the company with the AI and equipment only allows you to hire them to pick at a rate better than hand labor. There are dozens operating in California now.If it can pick strawberries it can combine corn with its eyes closed,,,ahh wait..hehehhe | |
