West Union, Illinois | I'm far from an expert. I was injured as a volunteer firefighter at a fire run in April. Workman's Comp has been working with me since then. I did what the Occupational Therapist Dr said to do, finally talked them imto an MRI and appointment with a surgeon. He told me I'd want surgery but first WC would want Physical Therapy. I finally was scheduled for surgery November 7. I've gone through a few months of PT. My surgeon tells me it will take about a year to fully recover. Because of the timing I should be able to farm this Spring with minor restrictions
I've talked with several that have had rotator cuff surgery in this time. I've decided no two are alike. I've talked with people who said it was the most painful thing they've had done. Others have had no pain at all.
In talking with them my opinion is the deciding factor is the physical therapy. Do what your PT says. Do everything when you are supposed to do it.
If you can set this year out and recover I would suggest strongly considering it
edit I think all the typos are finally fixed
