ECIL | More and more, I try to wear seat belts on farm equipment on the road. In 2016 my uncle was in a collision with a loaded tandem axle feed truck. He was in a RoGator. Sprayer landed on its side and he was thrown out onto the road probably 15-20 feet from where the sprayer landed. He didn't make it to the hospital. I'll never forget cleaning that scene up. His nephews, neighbors, and the family that owned the feed truck cleaned it up to spare his brothers the pain.
I know seat belts aren't perfect on every situation, but I'm pretty sure he would have survived that accident had it been on. Made a believer out of me, even in farm equipment. I don't do it perfectly, but probably over 50% of the time I wear one.
