I have had both done, first one I couldn't stand the pain with a pain pill every 4 hours 2nd one I didn't take a pain pill after day 4. Took the 4 months to recover did my therapy and have almost 100% on both shoulders. I did have to sleep in a recliner for almost 3 months, just could lay in bed and not hurt. Good luck and do what they tell you
