Subject: RE: Lighting for the new kitchen

North Central US
Our kitchen is roughly the same size, different island shape and we have:

3 lights over the island(need more)

6 over the rest(definitely need more)

All are can lights with 60w equivalent LED flood lights. I wouldn't do the non replaceable bulb less light, as QC on LEDs has really went downhill in the last few years.

Put more lights than you think you need, you can always turn them off and if you use the can light, you can put smaller bulbs in them if you think they are too much.

Also make sure the end of your island doesn't line up with the fridge. Everyone will stand there. I speak from experience.
