North Central Iowa | For clarification, the AG15 is just an antenna. That can only receive WAAS corrections. The actual GPS receiver is in the 250, which can only receive WAAS corrections. So you could put a AG25 on a ez guide 250, and it will work fine but still only work with WAAS corrections. Same for ez guide 500 and cfx-750 if not unlocked for RTK. To get RTK, the receiver has to be unlocked to RTK and the higher end antennas are necessary.
On many newer systems, the thing on the roof is both the antenna and receiver all in one. Such as John Deere 3000 and 6000s, ag leader 7500s, etc. So the RTK unlock for these is part of the box on the roof, not in the screen. Trimble tended to use simple antennas on the roof and the actual gps receivers in the screen, though I think the newest Trimble stuff and the combine unit on the roof. To confuse things, Trimble at the same time did make all-in-one GPS receivers (e.g. 252) that could also be used with the older Trimble screens. | |
