*Good/great management can make just about any setup work*

With that caveat out of the way…Yes, it’s too far.

We have a two robot group with 120 cows delaval robots side by side on one end guided flow. It’s about a 200ft walk maximum. It works, it’s fine. More fetching. All about the feet, if not running footbaths enough or rapid change of feed or ration out of wack it’s a struggle to push visits to where they should be.

We also have a 60 cow group one robot that we put our fresh heifers in. We love it. Cows get to feed and robot so easily and so quickly. So much easier day to day work in that group fetching etc. access to feed and robot is easier, we feel like we can push visits in that group easier. Less worry, group takes care of itself more if we properly get fresh heifers ramped up and rolling. Next robot pen we put in will be a 60 cow pen.
