Graymont Illinois

Old single batch'ler here.

Used to butcher in my younger years, but too many left overs.

Professional butcher asked how I wanted the pig cut up, and I said , "All in butterflied pork chops"

Hate being laughed at.

Awhile back, whole pork loins were being sold at 1.4$ a pound

I bought 11 loins several years ago. with about same  price. Yea, over board!

4 years later I still had a few loin, vac'd ,  packed loin chops.left.

They were still edible, no freezer burn, but, old taste on fat.

Lesson, buy at low price. Freeze with the best vac, no leaking package.

If it looses vac, it will freezer burn. If not, it will last a long time.

Ham prices a while back were very low, I bought many store hams, some spiral cut/some by name brands.

Meat should be good for 1 year , easy, if vacc'd well.and froze.

Now, if  only I  could cook:>)
