Most spray, a lot of them just avoid alfalfa in the end.
My hope is to take what I can get at the first sign of them. Then leave any 2nd growth (my free cover crop) till the next spring to catch snow, go to seed, then disk under. I will know in a month if this will work.
As of right now there is no sign of life from any trees, weeds, or alfalfa, Grass though is just starting to grow.
This should bury the eggs in the spring and eventually the weevils should be less.
I have a nice stand of 5 year old "grazing" alfalfa. It doesn't pile up like other varieties but wow is there a lot of leaves.
I used a 16' disk pulling a land roller behind and made 4 rounds on 1/2 mile long field. If it comes back I will feel like a wizard, if not my journey will continue.
I have grass/alfalfa that the weevils do not bother with at all. This is where I may end up if they are just too much of a problem to solve.
Most things are possible..........except that I can't be a girl. It's been 68 years since that choice was made for me.
