East Central Nebraska | Oh crap thank for the reminder. Today was the due date to pay or face severe penalties. They are giving me one more chance. Looks like I'm going to court. But seriously, these folks need a good old fashioned hanging. A few years ago, my son was just out of high school and starting a landscaping business. 18 years old. Had some guy trying to scam him and he about fell for it. Some dude texted him to do work in his yard. Sent pictures of bushes to remove and to go back with some rock along the house instead. Kid gave him a quick estimate by the photo's. Guy wanted to pay him more to get booked and then send the additional money back. Or something like that. He was all excited. My son called me as it wasn't adding up and he didn't know if he should start on it or wait. My kid wanted to meet him in person and the guy just kept saying you do good work, I trust you, just start, but need to get the money thing going first before you start. My kid was thinking he could use that money to buy the rock and supplies and not have to go in the hole to start the project. I told him this a scam and that is not a phone number from the area. The little light bulb finally came on and he was pissed that he was getting his chain jerked so easily. He said he had multiple conversations with the guy and he had broken english as they started chatting after several texts Scary thing is this was an actual house in the area that was being rented out. I know the owner and let him know. He was shocked too about it. Almost learned his lesson the hard way. | |
