Kettle Moraine, WI | "observe nature and study books. And if they don't agree. Throw away the books." -William Albrecht
Helping others with their problems is a great way to look at one's own problems in a new light with new answers.
Weeds are nature's medicine cabinet to solving a problem. Some weeds bring up lacking nutrients where others thrive in nutrients of abundance. I met the author 15-20 years ago. He wrote a book "weeds and why they grow". Jay McCamamen (sp?). I don't know if it is still in print or not. Smart guy to listen to. Also a book title that stood with me though I hadn't read the book "grass, the forgiveness of nature" by Charles Walters. That made me think about ecosystems.
Weeds also have different nutrients profiles and some high in certain micronutrients that animals know to eat. Cows like lambs quarter more than many intentional forage species.
Another thing is realizing what purpose animals have in nature. Whole other topic.
There are a lot of things that we need to ask "why" many times to get the answer and we need to see what we are looking at | |
