While I hate to even respond but I have seen animals like your bull with whats called Woody Tongue.  Its from eating weeds/ junk hay ect and it irritates the lining of the tongue.  Also 20 cc Banamine does not seem like very much for that size animal.  I seen them get over it..  Inventory of your forage quality would explain lots if it is very course.  Grinding hay quality or Warm season grass baled late.  In addition we had a 1000# holstien  steer out on grass one summer that keep loosing weight until we finally looked in his mouth and found multiple treble  hooks used for fishing.  He did not look like that, just weight loss.    I potentially would seek out another vet.  Sorry I don't like the first answer.  Run him to Mu clinic.  Columbia.

I don't disagree with what you say.

Main reason for asking on here because I've never experienced anything like this.

Hired hands were researching and checking with buddies and thinking Woody tongue.
