coast of Maine | Back in the 70's the state game wardens still could use dynamite to unblock streams. Our local game warden was a very "pro" warden. He would lay in weeds all night to catch violators.Larry was called to a beaver dam flooding the road in Rockland. He set his charges and ran his leads back a long ways.He hit the plunger /switch and the dam blew but the wires flew up with the debris and above the area was a very high voltage distribution line. The blast lines carried the voltage down to Larry.I heard that it nearly killed him.It was the beginning of the end of dynamiting game wardens. | |
