JamesL2 - 3/26/2025 05:32 Hi I would like to add a oil pressure gauge and fuel pressure gauge to this combine. Is there a gauge to monitor my engine air filter being plugged? I clean it everyday...but sometimes it gets forgotten. Where would I get these gauges? Anything else I should add? Looked back a posts...in 2013, daa and jalopy talked about digital and the site duallymax suggested to purchase from isn't avaliable

What I added to the 1470 were Murphy gauges. That way if something goes wrong the engine will be shut down, hopefully before any damage is done.

How do you get around the idle to shut off stop?

Jalopy is correct in that the 14xx were electric shutoff. I added one to a friends 1680. Murphy has an electric shut off solenoid that goes in a line. In his case he added it after the secondary filter and before the injection pump. It would not shut it off as I guess the transfer pump builds more pressure than the solenoid could handle. So I wired in a relay to the electric fuel pump out of the tank. If the murphy system does want to shut down it will kill power to this relay which shuts off the electric fuel pump. Engine may run for a few seconds before it runs out of fuel but it should shut down. This was last year and we have not tried the system yet this year. I think I will tell him to leave the Murphy shut down solenoid in place but move it to inlet of primary filter. It probably will require someone holding the over ride button when it comes time to change filters and bled so there will be fuel flow in the system.

Been about 3 years since I did it to mine, probably can find the part numbers if you need them.
