It would make burning stumps easier. Old guys that cleared that way told me the dynamite would blow the dirt loose and they would burn. One guy said he did not like using it because it would give him a headache. I don't know if the boom did it or if there was some fumes or something else.

Wet soaked up looking paper on the Dynamite sticks is a bad situation. It shows it started to sweat or more simply, was "bleeding out or separating the nitroglycerin from the powder" which is a condition that makes otherwise safe to handle dynamite product turn into an Unstable dangerous substance subject to unexpected bad things happening upon minor impact which normally wasn't much of a problem.
