And this is where the “drought” conversation takes a turn. 5.xx inches since November and 2.25 two weeks ago. I’m thinking you don’t know dry. Places in ND that is the annual rainfall and we still don’t say dry

The difference is that we expect lots of rain and you don't..The average rain fall here for the 10 years prior to 2022 was 48 inches per year..2 of the last 3 corn crops here weren't harvested and the last 3 bean crops were 1/2 or less..Good 10 year APH's have been wrecked..We have had great wheat crops 2 of the past 3 years but that doesn't pay the bills..We count on double crop beans and they have been poor for the past 3 years..In 2023 they were just 3 bpa and werent harvested.

The 2.25" was 3 weeks ago and its about gone..The dust was rolling today where farmers were working ground and planting corn...Our clay pan soils hold moisture poorly..Usually,we worry about getting too much rain in April and May...Friends that have dug down 3-4 ft say that theres not much there...2022,2023,and 2024 were the 3 poorest years in a row here since 1953,1954,and 1955...I'm just in a dry pocket while others not that far away have had more rain and better yields...
