NE Nebraska | We had a 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee purchased May 2019. On Christmas Eve 2019 it was t-boned. The other gal ran a light and was at fault (witnessed). She had the minimum insurance required by law. We had full coverage through Farm Bureau. Both vehicles were totaled, fortunately no injuries. She had 3 little kids in her car and was rushing to church. I had just dropped off my daughter, her husband and out 10 month old grandchild. Initially the damage to our vehicle was over $7000 but the more they got into it the higher the damage till ultimately it was totaled. We were told to go pick out a similar vehicle of our choice, so we got a 2020 of the same model. Farm Bureau covered our rental vehicle for several weeks, the cost of the new vehicle, sales tax and a new car seat. Things to note tho--we've carried Farm Bureau for many years for all types of coverage (property, liability, commercial, umbrella, work comp, etc). Our collective annual premiums are substantial. Our premium did not go up the next year. They no doubt went after the at fault party's insurance to recoup their cost. | |
