| Pretty cut throat business. Competitive players are paying as low as 2 cents a kwh for power and governments mining getting completely free power from hydro or geothermal.
The interesting part is using the waste heat for doing something else like running a greenhouse or fishery. Than maybe it could work for someone that is not a giant corporation still have to price that against natural gas and propane though.
Sometimes crypto currencies other than bitcoin are profitable to mine only for a short time and work out on paper but by the time the machine arrives everyone else gets there machines and all the profit is gone. I wouldn't even think about it unless you have super cheap power. Don't even consider anything other than bitcoin. | |
