Subject: RE: Losing 2 Ash trees to borers

South Central MN
New Ulm ash trees looked like a real disaster last summer. Tree trimmers going to be busy this year I bet. What didn't die already now has a lot of sucker stems growing out of the trunk with a dead top. Most towns planted ash trees after all the big elms got wiped out years back. Now they get to cut down a bunch of ash and try to find something else to replace them with.

Haven't seen them up here yet though they very well could be in the area, knock on wood the ash trees haven't died yet.

I do have a bunch of soft maples that need to come out, hollow all the way down the trunk and turning into liability issues with a shed out back.
