| Our neighbor did something like this for a while after his hired man left. He would swath millet hay down and turn his cows out. I know the volunteer next year was an issue. But they seamed to do alright!! The one thing I don’t like to see is stock piled pasture grass. Like CRP for example. turn them out mid winter and the cows turn around and look at you like what the heck man!! All that dead brown steamy grass that’s headed out on 8 inches of rain that year. When the neighbor does turn his out on old CRP I can hear them bawling at the gate till he hauls them supplemental hay. Or they just park on the lick tub till it’s gone. They look like absolute hell. | |
