Near Intersection of I-35 & I-90 Southern Mn.
Fast Close would be needed if you have a single valve system, since the valve must do double duty - that is act as a control valve and an On/OFF valve.

Fast would be appropriate if you have a separate ON/OFF valve since the Fast valve only needs to handle control and can remain in its present position when application is halted. It will remain in the proper position so when application resumes, it does not need to "hunt" UP/DOWN to apply the target rate.

A separate ON/OFF Master valve may be needed with multiple section NH3 bars. Some type of method is needed to block off the liquid line going to the the heat exchanger(s). If you have a mult-section bar with section valves but no Overall Master, your Fast valve may be set as Fast Close for that reason. There are other approaches to handling the liquid line such as having a valve in that line rather than an Overall Master.

If you have a separate ON/OFF valve, a Standard Control Valve would be my choice rather than a Fast valve though. A standard control valve is geared down considerably making it much easier for the system to make minor corrections at low flow rates.

With a Raven 440/450 etc., the Fast/Fast Close/Standard choice is part of the initial settings. With an Ag Leader this is an option in the NH3 configuration.

I do not know how it is done with a Pro 700 but I suspect its somewhere in the setup.
