When you start the engine with a gallon of water in 10 gallons of oil, the oil turns to the color of calf scours. Maybe takes a slight immeasurable amount of life off the engine, unless someone works it hard for an extended period. A white snot shows on the blowby tube and on the to of the dipstick and oil fill cap. That's about the extent of it.
Would you change the engine oil?
