Have you soil tested is my question? I find alfalfa likes ph of 7 well.

HERE a well limed/fertilized field will last longer than 20 cuttings. I have a field of old Vernal alfalfa, that is still 50% alfalfa that I planted in 2009. It's my best-selling 2nd, 3rd and 4th butting, SS bales. There have been years I've 5 cuttings off this field, generally it's 3 or 4 cuttings though.
