I don’t apply spring Nitrogen until the wheat begins to joint. Then only if conditions are conducive to added yields. If it’s too dry to grow there is no use to add more N to the plant. We still can raise pretty good yields doing it this way. 70-90 if the rains come soon enough in late April or May.
